You will find the gorgeous Bellwether Shepherd's Hut between the North Yorkshire market towns of Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley, although it is closer to the latter, at the very edge of the North York Moors National Park. A perfect couple's romantic retreat, Bellwether Shepherd's Hut is an ideally located base for exploring this region, with Thirsk and Pickering easily accessible, as well as the stunning North Yorkshire coast, with Robin Hood's Bay, Saltburn by the Sea, Runswick Bay, Staithes, Whitby, Scarborough and Hunmanby Gap on offer. Bellwether Shepherd's Hut offers unique accommodation, with a stylish interior design. It is well-equipped for couples to spend some time within a perfect, North Yorkshire countryside setting.
Bellwether Shepherd's Hut has a well-equipped kitchen with all the essentials that you could need. You can eat at the dining table or outside in alfresco-style with a glass of wine! At the end of the day you can retire to the well-presented double bed, with the wood burning stove warming the hut and keeping you cozy, especially in the winter months. Venturing into Helmsley gives you the opportunity to sample the good selection of and eateries, as well as the English Heritage-owned Helmsley Castle. A good, but not too taxing walk from Helmsley will bring you to the stunning ruins of the 11th-century Rievaulx Abbey and slightly further afield is Byland Abbey with its museum of artefacts. Bellwether Shepherd's Hut is a wonderful base to return to each evening after a day exploring this superb location. Bellwether Shepherd's Hut offers all ground-floor accommodation, an open-plan studio with kitchen, dining area and double bed, Shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. There is electric underfloor heating and a wood burning stove, microwave, electric hob, fridge and WiFi.
Also available is the characterful, single-storey cottage, Shippon. With gorgeous countryside views, open-plan layout and an excellent location for touring, the cottage welcomes two guests for a romantic holiday or solo travellers hoping to explore the beauty of North Yorkshire. Step inside and be immediately wowed by the high ceilings, exposed brickwork, and wooden beams of Shippon, as well as the bonus of underfloor heating to warm tired feet. A light-filled, open-plan living space offers high-quality amenities to prepare your favourite meals, including an electric double oven, hob, and fridge, along with a dishwasher for stress-free clean ups. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent, as is fuel, power and starter pack. There is off-road parking for 1 car, a garden with lawn area and gravel area with table and chairs. A gas BBQ is available and a separate covered seating area. The owner regrets that pets are not allowed and there is strictly no smoking. As a point of interest, the owner offers aromatherapy massages, which are done at the property. Massages are at an additional cost (there is a discount for those staying at Bellwether Shepherd's Hut) and they must be booked in advance. Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £50.
