About City Cruises York | ||||
![]() Have you ever wanted to follow in the wake of the Romans and Vikings, while taking in the story of York from a different perspective as you escape the hustle and bustle of our thriving city? Enjoy York's No. 1 sightseeing tour; an entertaining and informative cruise on the River Ouse. Join us on-board our sightseeing cruise and discover fascinating facts from your seat on the top deck or wrapped up warm in our enclosed saloon. Wherever you sit you will have a great view to uncover the history of this ancient city and the immense impact the River Ouse has had on its development. From the impact of flooding over the centuries to its prosperity as an inland port, bringing precious goods from across the globe into York, including the humble cocoa bean, that super-charged York's world-famous chocolate industry. You'll discover more about all this history, as well as picking up some local knowledge, thanks to live, on-board commentary from our home-grown skippers. During your cruise, treat yourself to an indulgent range of refreshments at our on-board bar. Stocked with a selection of local beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks, hot drinks and snacks. Pre-Booking and Walk-Ups Welcome - Although we always advise pre-booking as a quick and efficient way of planning your visit to York, we always make sure to reserve an amount of tickets on each cruise for walk-ups.
Visit our Lendal Bridge or King's Staith Landing and buy tickets from a member of our crew! What is included? A minimum 45-minute sightseeing cruise which includes a live, Captain's Commentary. There is also an on-board Bar with local snacks & beverages. Along the cruise you'll spot many famous city landmarks, including the breath-taking gothic beauty of York Minster, Clifford's Tower, one of the only fortifications left of the castle that oversaw York after 1066, the many Bridges that cross the Ouse, the serene Museum Gardens, the medieval Guildhall and much, much more! Accessibility Wheelchair access is only available at our King's Staith Landing. Please call 01904 628324 before your visit to confirm sailing times of our wheelchair-accessible boats. Our Schedule Currently our cruises run daily from both our landing stages (King's Staith and Lendal Bridge) until late November, after which we will be operating our Festive Sightseeing Cruise! There are four guaranteed cruises from each of our landings: King's Staith Landing: 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00. Many more trips operate, sometimes departing every 30-45 mins - times are displayed at the landings and online! Please Note:
